Beersheba
Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
A well town on the edge of the southern desert. Hagar wandered in its wilderness, Abraham and Isaac lived here, and Jacob set out from here for Haran and later offered sacrifices here on his way to Egypt. Elijah fled south through Beersheba from Jezebel.
