Haran
Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
A city in the upper Euphrates country. Terah's family "came unto Haran, and dwelt there", and Abram left it at seventy five. Jacob later came here to his uncle Laban and met Rachel at a well. Genesis also calls the region Paddan-aram.
