Damascus
Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
The chief city of Aram, or Syria, northeast of Galilee. Abram chased the raiding kings past it, Naaman came from it, and Elisha visited its sick king. Saul of Tarsus was led into Damascus blind, was baptized by Ananias, and escaped over the wall "in a basket".
