Ramoth-gilead
Approximate location. The area is clear, but the exact site is not.
A fortress town in Gilead fought over by Israel and Syria. Ahab went up to battle here with Jehoshaphat and was killed, and years later a young prophet anointed Jehu king here. Tell er-Rumeith is the usual proposal for the site.
