Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
The mountain of God, also called Horeb. Moses met God at the burning bush here, received the law on its summit and came down with his face shining. Later Elijah fled to a cave on Horeb. Tradition names Jebel Musa in southern Sinai, but scholars propose many other sites.
