Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
God told Abraham to take Isaac "into the land of Moriah" and offer him there, then stopped him. Solomon built the temple "in mount Moriah", where the Lord had appeared to David at the threshingfloor of Ornan. The dot marks the temple hill. Tradition, not Genesis, makes it Abraham's mountain.
