Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
The sea Israel crossed when they left Egypt, and where Pharaoh's army drowned. Miriam led the women in song, and Moses led the people on into the wilderness. The Hebrew name can mean sea of reeds, and where the crossing happened is debated. The dot marks the Red Sea itself.
