A town of priests. David, fleeing Saul, came here to Ahimelech the priest, who gave him the hallowed bread and Goliath's sword. When Doeg the Edomite told Saul, Saul had the priests killed, and Doeg struck the town with the sword. The dot marks the area north of Jerusalem.
