Mount Gilboa
Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
A ridge above the Jezreel valley where Saul camped against the Philistines. The battle went against Israel here, and Saul and Jonathan died on the mountain. David later mourned them in a lament for the mountains of Gilboa.
