Approximate location. The area is clear, but the exact site is not.
A town in Gilead. Saul began his reign by rescuing it from the Ammonites, and years later its men took his body from the wall of Beth-shan, burnt it at Jabesh and buried the bones "under a tree at Jabesh". The exact site is debated.
