Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
One of the five Philistine cities and Goliath's home. David fled here from Saul and pretended to be mad, and later lived in Achish's service with his men and his wives. Excavations at Tell es-Safi have uncovered a large Philistine city.
