Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
A town in Moab. Moses set the law before Israel "in the valley over against Beth-peor". After he died on Nebo he was buried in a valley of Moab over against Beth-peor, "but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day". The site is not known.

On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:
