A town of Samaria near the ground Jacob gave to his son Joseph, and "Jacob’s well was there". Jesus, tired from his journey, sat on the well and asked a Samaritan woman for a drink. Many Samaritans of the town believed on him, and he stayed two days. Askar is the usual proposal for the site.
