Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
One of the cities of the plain by the Dead Sea. Lot settled there and "sat in the gate of Sodom" when the angels came, before the city was destroyed. Its site is unknown. Some place it south of the Dead Sea and others north of it.
