Uncertain location. Scholars propose different sites. The dot marks one proposal.
A town in Gilead. Mephibosheth, the lame son of Jonathan, lived here in the house of Machir until David "sent, and fetched him out" and gave him a place at the king's table. Machir of Lo-debar later brought food to David at Mahanaim. The site is not known.
