Identified location. The site is known today and most scholars agree on it.
One of the five Philistine cities, on the coast. When the Philistines got the answer to Samson's riddle from his wife, he went down to Ashkelon, killed thirty men there and gave their clothes to the men who had answered it. Then he went back to his father's house in anger.
